Managing your licence
Seats, device activations, renewals and cancellation — how each one works today, and who to write to.
There is no self-service portal yet. Everything on this page is handled by email, and answered by a person rather than a form. When the account area opens, this page becomes it.
Seats and device activations
A seat belongs to one named individual. Each seat may be activated on up to two devices belonging to that person — a desktop and a laptop, typically.
The software counts activations, not identities. Using the spare activation to give a second person access is a breach of the Licence Agreement, even though nothing will stop you doing it.
| Plan | Seats | Device activations |
|---|---|---|
| Individual | 1 user | 2 |
| Multi User | 3 users | 6 |
| Business | 10 users | 20 |
| Corporate | 25 users | 50 |
Moving a seat to another computer
Open the plug-in on the old machine, go to Help, and deactivate the device there. The seat is released immediately and can be activated on the new machine.
If the old machine was lost, replaced or wiped before it was deactivated, write to [email protected] with your licence key and we will release the activation for you.
Adding or removing people
On a Multi User, Business or Corporate licence, tell us who should hold the seats and we will set them up. Write to [email protected] from the address the licence was bought with, or quote the licence key.
Renewal
Licences run for a year from activation. We write to you before the renewal date; a licence that is not renewed simply stops working on that date. Nothing is deleted from your computer and none of your Revit models are affected.
Cancelling
See how to cancel, which also covers refunds.
This page describes how we operate. Where it differs from the Terms of Service or the Licence Agreement, those documents are what binds.
